About CUSO

CUSO is a Canadian organization which supports alliances for global social justice. CUSO works with people striving for freedom, self-determination, gender and racial equality, and cultural survival. CUSO achieves its goals by sharing information, human and material resources, and by promoting policies for developing global sustainability.

With more than 300 cooperants in 34 countries in Latin America, Asia/Pacific and Africa, CUSO is working with grassroots partner organizations to implement common programs and activities.

CUSO is a Canadian non-governmental organization involved in international cooperation since 1961. CUSO provides assistance to partner organizations in countries in the South with more than 300 cooperants in 34 countries in Latin America, Asia and Africa.

For us, international cooperation is a daily experience where qualified, flexible and dynamic cooperants work side by side with social movements in the south. In Canada, as in Mozambique, we are confident in the potential of grass roots organizations to struggle for social justice, whether they are women's groups, peasant organizations, unions or community groups.

Beyond cooperation, solidarity exists and is experienced through exchanges between social movements from the South and the North. Our cooperants contribute to developing and consolidating the bonds of exchange and solidarity.
